“Brexit has put relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union with its member states to the test. With the trade and cooperation agreement, the worst consequences of the British exit from the Union could be prevented. Nevertheless, there can be no talk of disruption-free trade. The exchange of goods is particularly burdened by non-tariff barriers such as the provision of proofs of origin and the lack of automatic recognition of product regulations and conformity assessments. Trade in services is also hampered by numerous and complicated special regulations. For labour mobility, Brexit brought significant hurdles.
We must do everything possible to return as far as possible to the previously close and smooth economic relations…”
