On 11 July, the European Commission presented a new legislative package “Greening Freight”, which aims to make freight transport efficient and sustainable. The legislative package opens up new opportunities for companies to increase the efficiency of their means of transport and reduce emissions.
The legislative package includes the following points:
- Regulation on rail infrastructure
- Revision of the directive on weights and dimensions for trucks
- Method for calculating transport emissions
The carbon footprint of freight transport should be reduced
