From 1st Oct. 2021, prior declarations and health certificates were to be a prerequisite for the import of certain foodstuffs of animal origin into the UK. From 1st Jan. 2022, safety declarations should also apply to all imports. These and other post-Brexit transition periods have now been postponed again. On 14^th Sept.2021, the UK announced that the timetable for the gradual implementation of customs regulations and customs controls for imports from the EU would be postponed further, to 1st. Jan. 2022 or 1^st July 20222. Among other things, imports of food of animal origin are also affected by the postponement.
