The Goethe-Institut in Windhoek, Namibia is organizing a training fair on April 21 and 22. The aim is to bring together young people from Namibia and German companies looking for trainees.

Against the shortage of skilled workers

Many training companies in Germany are desperately looking for trainees year after year. But they don’t always find what they are looking for – apprenticeships often remain unfilled. In Namibia, on the other hand, there is a high unemployment rate among school leavers. This is where the Goethe-Institut comes in and wants to bring both parties together.

The Goethe-Institut has already had good experience: initial recruitments have already taken place, especially in the catering and nursing sectors. The Goethe-Institut supports the future trainees with intensive German courses before they start their training in Germany. These are completed at the B2 level.

Information for interested companies

The Goethe-Institut recommends that companies wishing to participate in the training fair – either in person or online – and present their company as soon as possible.
