Since some time German exporters have been asked to provide the South Korean buyer / importer of their goods, a copy of the “Authorized exporter” (EA) for example, or a confirmation of the German tariff on the authorization number assigned to the company to the “Authorized exporter”. Currently there is a new request for German exporters to complete a “Verification of origin” form. Companies who are requested to do so are advised to inform their customs office. Verifications of preferences from German exporters are to be officially communicated to the German customs authorities by the South Korean customs authorities, according to the free trade agreement between South Korea and the EU (see also the Protocol on the Republic of Korea, Article 27).
