New sanctioning rules may impose sanctions on persons and entities involved in the development and use of chemical weapons. The sanction options exist regardless of the nationality and location of the participants.
On the one hand, restrictive measures may be imposed on individuals or entities responsible for the development and use of chemical weapons and, on the other hand, against persons providing financial, technical or material assistance.
Among other things, measures include the freezing of assets and entry bans into the EU. In addition, listed persons or institutions may not be financially supported.
