The European Union has responded to the crisis in Venezuela through CFSP 2017/2074 and in particular the numerous human rights violations and excessive use of force in Venezuela by adopting restrictive measures on 13 November 2017. This decision has been transposed into direct legislation by Regulation (EU) 2017/2063.

The following goods are affected: weapons, goods of internal repression, goods for monitoring the internet and telephone traffic. Also financial sanctions were expressed.
