The nomenclature describes the first 8 digits of the customs tariff.
The European Commission has presented the Common Customs Tariff and thus the current edition of the Combined Nomenclature (CN) 2025. It will apply from 1 January 2025.

There are no notes on the cancellation of code numbers.
The general interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature remains unchanged,
However, this does not mean that the wording of the notes to the chapters may have changed.
The legal basis is Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 on the tariff and statistical nomenclature and on the Common Customs Tariff. Annex I of the Regulation is updated annually and published in the Official Journal of the EU (issue L).
The Federal Statistical Office publishes a list of the changes occurring in the new year in connection with the new version of the list of goods for foreign trade statistics.
