Anti-dumping duties are in place on some imports to protect the EU market from goods at dumping prices. Chinese products are often affected.
The EU Commission is currently examining whether certain cast iron products need to be reassessed and further anti-dumping measures taken. At the same time, the anti-dumping duties on aluminum wheels from China have been extended.
Cast iron products under scrutiny
By implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/140, anti-dumping measures are in place on some cast iron products originating in China. These are scheduled to expire on January 31, 2023. However, the Eurofonte association requested an expiry review. Now, certain cast iron products are being re-investigated. For more details, see the Official Journal of Jan. 27, 2023. The current status of the investigation can be found on the EU Commission’s website.
Anti-dumping measures on aluminum wheels extended
A similar expiry review has already been completed in the case of aluminum wheels from China. The investigation showed: the supply of Chinese aluminum wheels at dumping prices has not decreased in the EU market. The existing anti-dumping duties of 22.3 percent will remain in place for another five years.
