Montenegro and the Republic of Moldova have been officially part of the Common Transit Convention <\/strong>and the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods <\/strong>since 1 November 2025. This means that both countries can now be assigned as countries of<\/strong> departure, transit or destination<\/strong> in relevant procedures.<\/p>\n

Electronic processing via NCTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

As with all other participating countries, transit processing is carried out via the New Computerised Transit System<\/strong> (NCTS). In Germany, the ATLAS<\/strong> IT system continues to be used for this purpose. Following the recent accession, goods movements between Moldova, Montenegro and the other members of the Convention are now recorded digitally.<\/p>\n

Member states of the agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cross-border goods traffic<\/strong> with both new and old contracting parties \u2013 such as the EU member states<\/strong>, the EFTA countries <\/strong>(Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland), the United Kingdom<\/strong>, Serbia<\/strong>, North Macedonia<\/strong>, Turkey<\/strong>, Ukraine<\/strong> and Georgia<\/strong> \u2013 will in future be handled entirely electronically via the NCTS.<\/p>\n
