Considering feedback from international partners on the status of their preparations, the Commission is proposing that the parties concerned be given more time to prepare.<\/p>\n

The new start date would be 30 December 2025 for medium-sized and large companies and 30 June 2026 for micro and small companies. The European Parliament and the Council still have to approve the proposal. In addition, a guidance document, an extended edition of the \u2018 FAQs and a \u2019 strategic framework for international cooperation have been published.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce approved by the European Parliament and the Council, the legislation would become applicable on 30 December 2025 for large companies and on 30 June 2026 for micro and small enterprises. As all implementation tools are operational at technical level, the additional 12 months can serve as a phase-in period to ensure proper and effective implementation.\u201d<\/p>\n
