This was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundestag.de\/dokumente\/textarchiv\/2023\/kw42-de-maut-971416\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decided in the Bundestag on October 20<\/a>. However, tolls will soon also be payable for lighter trucks.<\/p>\n<p>Against the background of the carbon dioxide surcharge, the toll rates for trucks will be increased. In this way, the German government wants to send a price signal and promote the use of alternative drive systems. From July 1, 2024, the toll will also be extended to vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons.
