On February 24, 2023, the EU’s now 10th package of sanctions against Russia has come into force. Against the backdrop of the anniversary of the war of aggression against Ukraine, the previously applicable sanctions have been tightened once again.<\/p>\n

Export bans on critical technology and industrial goods<\/strong><\/p>\n

A number of goods are added to the previous sanctions. Particularly affected: Critical technology and critical industrial goods. These include, for example, goods from the construction sector, such as cranes, that could be used by the Russian military. Spare parts for engines and trucks as well as other machine parts and electronics are also included.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, new additions include certain rare earth materials and electronic integrated circuits – components used in Russian weapons systems.<\/p>\n

Sanctions against Russian citizens, organizations and media<\/strong><\/p>\n

Severe export restrictions on dual-use goods are existing for 96 other organizations since the 10th package of sanctions came into force. In addition, the European Council is seeking to revoke the licenses of the radio stations “MedienRT Arabic” and “Sputnik Arabic.”
\nFrom now on, Russian citizens are forbidden to hold a post at the management level in the field of critical infrastructure. The same applies to EU critical facilities.<\/p>\n
