With the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the European Commission wants to set the rules for fair and open digital trade. The Digital Markets Act was already adopted by the European Parliament and the Council in mid-September of this year. It has now been published in the Official Journal of the EU.<\/p>\n

The DMA contains regulations for the gatekeepers of the digital world. Gatekeepers are platforms that generate more than 7.5 billion euros in sales per year. When the law comes into force, they have a number of obligations. Among other things, they are prohibited from combining personal data from different services or giving preference to their own products in the ranking.<\/p>\n

The DMA has been in force since October 4, and companies must implement the law from March 2024. Which companies these will be will be announced in mid-2023.<\/p>\n
